The Pandemic COVID-19 erased the entire livelihood of the people who are daily workers, small business people, roadside vendors and other single women and women headed families to a large extent due to continuous lockdowns since March 7th 2020.
With increased numbers of Corona cases in the district and state people in all walks of life face a worst life situation.
In 2020-21 our organisation was involved in rehabilitating the people who were affected by lock downs due to COVID-19.
Relief measures were given to 936 families including tribal women, transgender, frontline workers, sanitary workers, gypsies and other poor.
- 300 masks were issued to Police stations
- 3200 masks were distributed to the needy people.
- 100 N95 masks were distributed to the front line workers in medical college Hospital.
- Siddah medicine and honey were distributed to 500 families and 5 NGOs with the help of Madurai City Police (MCP).
FOOD MATERIALS SUPPLY
People were starving due to lockdowns and we identified the sections who are in urgent requirement of food materials. The pack contains 5 Kg of rice and 700 Rs. worth grocery items which will be sufficient to feed their family for atleast 10 days. Government and other local donors also came forward to help the masses. We supported 936 families identified from different categories with food materials. Also we received extended support by the District Social Welfare Officer in distributing the materials.

There are 30 transgenders (shemales) are living in Thovalai. They were suffering without access to food. Our team consisting of our staff, Dr.Jeyakumar, Jansi and the District Social Welfare Officer directly met them and distributed food materials.
