After the OCKHI cyclone hit the district, PURA issued power saw, clothes and utensils to the victims.

A bike rally was conducted by women entrusting the slogan “Protect the girl Children” and “Educate the girl Children”. Jansi participated the rally. The rally went on for a distance of 15 Kms from Nagercoil to Thuckalay. Women Police and women from the Collectorate, Nagercoil also participated. Nearly 100 two wheelers participated the rally.
